CALIPSO project is among 54 selected projects of the European Defence Fund (EDF) for 2023, which support the technological excellence of 
European defence capabilities in critical areas. CAFA is included in the project as a member of a consortium of 34 partners from 14 EU member states and Norway.

CALIPSO aims to provide guidelines and roadmaps for systematically addressing technological and other challenges in terms of innovative emission-reducing propulsion solutions. The project aims to enable the defence sector to systematically achieve the EU sustainability goals by introducing innovative emission-reducing propulsion solutions to a significant part of its activities. The project paves the way towards efficient adoption of sustainable fuel based innovative propulsion systems in the land and naval domains of the defence sector. The project provides guidelines and roadmaps for systematically addressing technical and other challenges such as standardisation, safety, supply chain and logistic.
